Creolux: Create Light.
Forrest Morgan - Fine artist, Oil painter.
I’m an artist living in Littleton, Colorado. I began oil painting in 2021, after working for years with colored pencil. My work consists of realism/surrealism, generally focused on struggle and transformation. I’ve faced my own mental health struggles, and painting is a therapeutic, tangible, spiritual, transcendent way of working through it all. My beliefs run deeply in my work. Every person I paint is in a way a reflection of my inner being. They have individual stories that belong to them and something greater; something that is vast, yet deeply in love with the individual.
Artwork is my greatest calling. I believe it can awaken and stir something in each of us that often gets subdued in a noisy, rational, polarized, success-driven culture. It asks us to slow down and breathe it in, let it speak into silence. It tells us to grasp at abstract thoughts and emotions. It does that for me. It became a soil for me to grow into during difficult times and connects me to my inner child and exposes my demons. It has reached into the darkest parts of who I am and how I see the world, and created something that I understand to be beautiful. Part of my voice is to unveil that darkness which interacts with us, and the hope that pulls us from its depths.
